LAWYER FIXED FEE CASES

Our office will consider a variety of fee arrangements to meet the client’s needs and limit their risks. One type of fee arrangement is fixed fee which means a specific amount is charged for a specific task or service. There are several challenges in such an arrangement:

1.  Defining the task and scope of service

Imagine if a client proposes a modest charge for a court appearance but several appearances were required.

2. Risk and difficulty

A contentious matter or one with significant challenges is less suitable for fixed fee handling.

3. Familiarity and Breadth

A simple matter is more suitable for handling than a complex one.  An ability to describe and document a case makes it more suitable for fixed fee handling.
